Who Is Hobbytree?
From a hobby to a business, this was my dream....
I have always loved cards, it is a family thing A tradition that I chose to continue, especially once I moved away for university. Sending and recieving cards for no particular reason, other than to say hi became a life line to me on days that I had a bad day/ was feeling lonely etc..
It was a few years later on my wedding day that I actually began to see that this could ultimately become a business when I recieved a hand made card, which in truth was quite basic, but it was enough to have me thinking.
Next I saw cards made by a felllow mum while on the school run. These cards were beautifully made and it was obvious that they were made with a lot of time and care. I suddenly thought that if this mum could do it, why couldn't I? So I went and bought a card making magazine, which then turned into a kit.... Now, I rarely use kits, I like to design for the individual, finding the right verse or colour scheme etc.... I love the buzz that I get whenever I have completed something special that I know the recipiant will love.
But now it isn't only cards...it's other paper crafts, it's polymer clay and fabrics and jewellery and anything else that I like the look of. It is also not just me now. My daughter likes to get involved wherever she can and has come up with some great ideas. She has plans to join the business and we hope to expand as our ideas do. So thank you for joining us, watch this space..... Sam Berry
